The Lumberman’s Monument Visitor’s Center- will hold Kid’s Day Friday, July 10th, 1pm, at the Center at River and Monument Roads, Oscoda. Kids will learn what role the Forest Service has in wildland firefighting. The program is free and open to all ages. For more information call 989-362-8961.

Summerfest 10k Run, 5k Run & Walk.

July 11th, 2026

The ”Light Up the Bay” committee along with Tawas Wellness Warriors will once again be hosting the Tawas Bay Sumerfest 5k/10k. Beginning  in 2025 the race will begin and end at The Collective in East Tawas.  Pre-registration for the Summerfest 5k Run and Walk is $30 and $20 for anyone 10 and under. The 10k registration ia $35, and $25 for anyone under the age of 10. Registration is available now.  Prices will increase for registration day before or day of.  Sign-up will take place online only through RunSignUp.com.  For inquiries regarding the race please email ahearnesean@gmail.com

The Tawas Masonic Lodge- will be selling Beef Pasties with Gravy Saturday, July 11th, beginning at 10am until gone, at the Lodge on U.S. 23 across from Freel’s Market, in Tawas City.

 

The Northeast Michigan Rocket Association- will hold a Model Rocket Launch Saturday, July 11th, 9am, at the Oscoda High School Ball Fields on River Road. Supplies provided, kids can lead countdowns and receive kits to build. For more information call 313-910-5809.

 

The 32nd Annual Sunrise Side Wine, Brew & Food Fest- will be held Saturday, July 11th, Noon-6pm, at the Harrisville Harbor. Michigan wines, craft beers, local food vendors local artisans and live music. Cost is $20 and includes 2 drink tickets and complimentary glass.

 

The Tawas City Library Friends Book Sale- will be held Saturday, July 11th, 9am-Noon, at the library, 208 North Street in Tawas City. You pick the book, you pick the price! All proceeds support the Tawas City Library and its programs. Rain date is July 18th.

 

The West Branch Chamber of Commerce- will hold their Fireworks Spectacular Saturday, July 11th. Live music with Blake Hinson under the pavilion at West Branch Commons from 4-8pm. Then Fireworks at dusk launched in the field north of Walmart on the Business Loop.

USG Alabaster Quarry- will hold their annual Free Fishing Day Saturday, July 11th, 8am-2pm, at the retired quarry ponds on Gypsum Road, off U.S. 23 in Alabaster Township. No license needed. Food and drinks, Nordic Sports Raffle and loaner equipment available. Rain or shine! All are welcome!

 

Cool To Duel Dueling Pianos- will be held at Knollview Golf Course, on U.S. 23 just south of AuGres Saturday, July 11th. Tickets $35 and includes chicken dinner. Seating at 4:30pm, Dinner at 5:30pm, Show at 6:30pm. To purchase tickets or more information call 989-876-4653

 

The 4th Annual USS Edson 5K Run/Walk- will be held Sunday, July 12th, at the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, 1680 Martin Street, Bay City. Race starts at 10am. The Tawas Bay Art Gallery- will host the class “Paint Your Pet”, create a custom portrait of your pet from your photograph Tuesday, July 28th, 1-3pm, at the Gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Bingo: The Alcona County Commission on Aging hosts Bingo the first and third Monday of every month at 2pm in the Senior Center Dining Hall, 207 South Church Street, Lincoln. Coffee and popcorn available too.

Community Supper: The Collective by Tawas Wellness hosts a Community Supper The first Monday of each month from 4-6:30pm at 821 Newman Street, East Tawas with a menu with burgers and seafood and weekly special. To go orders at 989-305-6322.

Bingo: The Mikado Goodfellows host Bingo Mondays at the Civic Center on F-41. Doors open at 4pm, Bingo at 6:30pm. Food available for purchase. Proceeds to Charity.

Euchre: The Alcona County Commission on Aging hosts Euchre Day, Tuesdays beginning at 12:30pm, at the Senior Center, 207 South Church Street, Lincoln. Tickets one dollar, 10 cents per Euchre, free popcorn and coffee. Call 989-334-3466 for more information.

The Friends of the Tawas Point Lighthouse invite everyone to “Tuesdays at the Lighthouse” free tours every Tuesday from Noon-4pm, at the lighthouse at Tawas Point State Park. Admission free, but donations accepted. A Recreation Passport is required for park entry.

 

THURSDAY:

Bingo: The Hale VFW hosts Bingo Thursdays at their hall, 203 Ainsley Street, Hale. Doors open at 4pm, Bingo starts at 6pm: 

Line Dancing: "Thursday Night at the V" Line Dancing Class will be held Thursdays from 6-8pm at VFW Post #3735 at 240 Chrysler Road in Oscoda. 

ConcertThe Standish Historical Depot & Welcome Center, U.S. 23 & M-61 will hold their Summer Concert Series Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm:

The Rotary Club of Oscoda Summer Concert at the Oscoda Beach Bandshell Thursday at 7pm:  Serving Pop, popcorn & sno-cones will be sold. In case of rain, it will move to the AuSable Inn. Visit the Rotary Facebook Page for more information

The Friends of the East Tawas Library will host “Booked For Lunch” every Thursday in July at Noon at Bolen Park, 750 Newman Street, East Tawas. Bring a lunch and listen to guest readers and every child gets a free book. The event is rain or shine!
