Summer Movies Return to Oscoda - Movies by the Pier will again be located at the band shell of Oscoda Beach Park, located along Lake Huron at 201 E. River Rd.  The movies will run on Wednesday nights for a total of 9 weeks and begin at dusk.

Aug 26 - The Sun is Also a Star

VFW Post 2356 & Hillman Area Chamber Present V. J Day Celebration - List of events from Thursday, August 6th thru Sunday, August 9th. Please wear a mask and follow social distancing.

Thursday, August 6th - VJ-Day Pageant will be held starting at 7pm at the Patchwood Plaza

Friday, August 7th - Music by Butch Runyon from 7pm to 9pm at the Patchwood Plaza by donation.

Saturday, August 8th - Horseshoe Tournament-Emerick Park 9am with a $20 entry fee. Call (989)884-0108 to register and schedule a time to pitch to qualify.

Quilts of Valor at Calvary Episcopal Church, following the parade

Music at the Bandshell-The Beachbillies from 7pm to 9pm

Fireworks at dusk-Join the tradition when Hillman will pay homage to our veterans with a fine fireworks show.  The popular display takes place each year at Emerick Park on the picturesque Thunder Bay River.  Bring chairs or blankets as everyone joins in dedicating the men and women who represent our country.

Presque Isle District Library -  Come join the fun with "An Evening with Mark Twain", Friday, August 7th at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 9th at 2pm at the Rogers City Theater. Tickets are $10 per person and available by calling the Roger City Library at (989)734-2477.  But Hurry!! Seating is limited for this special event.  Featuring Karl Heidemann as Mark Twain, you don't wan to miss this special show.

 

Alcona Health Center - Alcona Health Center is celebrating National Health Center Week!  This year the week is designated August 9th thru August 15th with the theme being "Community Health Centers - Lighting the Way for Healthier Communities Today and in the Future".  This is a virtual health fair event with a special page on Alcona Health Center website.  Visitors can register for drawings to win health related prizes.  This is open now at www.alconahealthcenters.org/celebrate-health.  The content and the drawings will also be featured on their Facebook page August 9th thru August 15th.  There is no cost to check out the virtual health fair and you do not need to be a patient to participate in the drawings.

 

American Legion Post #104 Standish - The Standish American Legion Post #104 will  be hosting it's 26th Annual "Golf Outing", Saturday, August 22nd at the Pine River Golf Club.  Registration is from 8:15am to 8:30am with a 9am Shotgun Start rain or shine.  The cost is $60 per person, choose your own team, or if you do not have a team one will be chosen for you. The cost is non-refundable. Includes 18 holes of Golf with Cart, Hole Prizes and Meal.  Prizes and Dinner are at the American Legion Post in Standish. Non participants may purchase meal for $8.00. Ogemaw County Fair - The fair will be held August 18th thru August 22nd at the Ogemaw County Fair grounds in West Branch.  for more fair info please visit their website at ogemawcountyfari.com.

 

Harrisville Harmony Weekend Arts and Craft Festival - Harmony Arts & Crafts - Labor Day Weekend Festival will be held September 4th thru September 6th.  An annual event held every Saturday and Sunday preceding Labor Day in Harrisville, Michigan, and featuring many talented artists and crafters from around the country.  Listen to the Sweet Adelines and live Musicians while perusing over 300 booths.  Kids/Family Activities on the Tennis Courts on Saturday from 10am - 2pm, with prizes.
