As part of the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce America 250 “Party Like It’s 1776” celebration, they will host an afternoon party with DJ Chase, Wednesday, July 1st, Noon-4pm, at Shoreline Park on U.S. 23 in Tawas City. As part of the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce America 250 “Party Like It’s 1776” celebration, they will host “Bubbles At The Beach Bash” at the Shoreline Park Pavilion, U.S. 23 Tawas City. From Noon-4pm BPT Entertainment. From 7-9pm, the band Random Hoax will perform followed by a boat parade on Tawas Bay from East tawas State Dock to Shoreline Park.

 

As part of the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce America 250 “Party Like It’s 1776” celebration, they will host activities at Shoreline Park on U.S. 23 in Tawas City. Clark The Juggler will entertain audiences at 3pm & 7pm at the Towns Square. Also Arts & Crafts with the Tawas Bay Art Gallery at the pavilion from 12:30-2:30pm. The 2026 4th of July parade will occur on Saturday, July 4th at 11am.

The theme for the parade is “Party Like It’s 1776” 

The parade begins at the corner of Newman and Lincoln St, travels towards US-23 where it takes a right, and continues into Tawas City, ending at Matthews St.The parade stretches 2.5 miles through the Tawases and includes over 100 vehicles.

The Oscoda Area Convention & Visitor Bureau will host free “Movie Night At The Pier”, Wednesdays at Oscoda Township beach. Movie starts at dusk, with music and games a half hour before the movie. Bring lawn chairs, blankets & snacks:

The City of AuGres will hold an Open House for four newly constructed homes Saturday, June 27th, 10am-3pm, at 257 Stern Drive in AuGres. The city encourages residents and interested buyers to attend, tour the homes and learn more about housing initiatives.

 

The Tawas Bay Art Gallery will hold a class in Basic Fashion Design “From Beach to Bistro”, Saturday, June 27th, 9-11am at the Gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Learn basic principles of fashion design. Cost is $35 plus $15 for supplies. Registration required by calling 989-362-5613.

Tawas Point State Park is hosting daily Nature Programs at the park in East Tawas. On Sunday, June 28th:

1pm: “Foxtacle Course” at the Explorer Guide Table near Camp Host. Learn about fox through fun activities.

4pm: “Michigan Marsupial” at the Explorer Guide Table near Camp Host. Learn about the opossum through a game or craft!

The Tawas Community Concert Band will perform a Patriotic Themed Concert Monday, June 29th, 7pm, at the East Tawas City Park. The first 100 people wearing a 2026 Sponsorship Tawas Chamber “Party Like It’s 1776” Logo T-Shirt will receive a free ice cream, courtesy of the Tawas Chamber, from Black Bird Ice Cream. Tuesday Night Live Street Dance and Family Fun will be held Tuesday, June 30th, 7-8:30pm on the 2nd block of Newman Street, East Tawas. It will feature “The Band Crash” plus a balloon artist, a Touch-A-Palooza event with vehicles from local organizations, free popcorn from the Family Theater for anyone wearing a 2026 Sponsorship Tawas Chamber “Party Like It’s 1776” Logo T-Shirt and face painting at the Tawas Bay Art Gallery. 10am: “Nature Walk” starting at the Lighthouse towards the end of the point and back along the beach

2pm: “Turtle Talk” at the Explorer Guide Table near camp Host. Learn about the turtles of Michigan and make a turtle inspired craft.

American Legion Post #422 will host an “America’s 250th Year Party, Friday, July 3rd beginning at 2pm, at the Post, 429 West Main Street, Hale. BBQ Chicken Dinner at 4pm, cost by donation. Fun & games including pool, Cornhole, darts & horseshoes. Plus 50/50, door prize for best patriotic costume and best patriotic dessert. DJ Karaoke & Contest at 7pm and the canteen is open to the public.

 

The Tawas Bay Art Gallery will host a watercolor class by featured artist Megan Swoyer called “Planter Pizzazz” Friday, July 3rd, 10:30am-12:30pm, at the Gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Cost is $40 and supplies are included. Registration is required by calling 989-362-5613.

 

The Friends of the Tawas Point Lighthouse invite everyone to “Tuesdays at the Lighthouse” free tours every Tuesday from Noon-4pm, at the lighthouse at Tawas Point State Park. Admission free, but donations accepted. A Recreation Passport is required for park entry.

 

MONDAY:

Bingo: The Alcona County Commission on Aging hosts Bingo the first and third Monday of every month at 2pm in the Senior Center Dining Hall, 207 South Church Street, Lincoln. Coffee and popcorn available too.

 

Community Supper: The Collective by Tawas Wellness hosts a Community Supper The first Monday of each month from 4-6:30pm at 821 Newman Street, East Tawas with a menu with burgers and seafood and weekly special. To go orders at 989-305-6322.

 

Bingo: The Mikado Goodfellows host Bingo Mondays at the Civic Center on F-41. Doors open at 4pm, Bingo at 6:30pm. Food available for purchase. Proceeds to Charity.
