The Tawas Point State Park in East Tawas is hosting daily nature programs. On Wednesday, July 15th.
3pm: Memory Scavenger Hunt at the Explorer Guide Table near Camp Host.
6-8pm: Hook, Line & Sinker free Kids Fishing at the East Tawas Dock at the end of Newman Street.
All programs are free however a Recreation Passport is required for entry to the park.

The Lumberman’s Monument will hold Kid’s Day Friday, July 17th 1pm, at the Visitor Center, at Monument and River Road in Oscoda. Jenny Schroeder of Hawk Hill Raptors will have a Great Horned Owl and discuss the importance of predators in the forest. The presentation is free but registration is required by Wednesday, July 15ht. Tawas Area Presbyterian Church will hold a Salad Dinner Fundraiser will be held Thursday, July 16th, 4-6pm, at the Church on U.S. 23 at Aulerich Road, East Tawas. Enjoy an assortment of fresh salads, homemade desserts and beverages. Suggested donation is $8, kids 5 and under free. Proceeds will go toward the Mission team’s trip to Pine Ridge Reservation for mission work.

The 3rd Annual Sand Lake Bobber Drop will be held Saturday, July 18th. Registration, $5, at noon at the Sand Lake Micro Brewery, 1353 Sand Lake Road, National City. Find as many bobbers as you can and then meet back at the brewery at 5pm. Bobbers will have numbers coinciding with prizes. Also 50/50, basket raffle and live entertainment with Random Hoax Two. The AuSable River Canoe Marathon’s “Dash for Cash” presented by Gilbert Drugs and Kalitta Air of Oscoda, will be held Tuesday, July 21st, 5:30pm, at Finish Line Park, U.S. 23 Oscoda.
