A Veteran Coffee Social- will be held Tuesday, September 15th, 6pm, at the Oscoda County Veterans Affairs Office, 205 E. 11th Street, in Mio. A chance for Veterans to connect with other area Veterans, share resources and build community connections. For more information call 989-826-9500.
The Tawas Bay Art Gallery- will host a “3 Step Coastal Art” class Wednesday, September 16th at 2pm or 5pm with instructor Ann Waterloo at the gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Learn three easy steps to paint coastal art on canvas. Cost is $35 with $5 for supplies. Preregistration and payment required by calling 989-362-5613.
A Veteran Coffee Hour- will be held Wednesday, September 16th, 9-11am, at the Wurtsmith Air Museum on Van Ettan Street, on the former Air Force Base, in Oscoda. Open to all area Veterans as a time to socialize and learn more about Veterans Benefits. For more information call 989-362-6571.
Develop Iosco- will hold a free Nonprofit Grant Writing Workshop Wednesday, September 16th, 5-8pm, at Alpena Community College, Oscoda campus, Room 213, 5800 North Skeel Avenue, Oscoda. Alcona Community Schools- will celebrate Hometown Heroes Friday, September 18th at the Alcona Community Schools Football Stadium on Barlow Road. Veterans, Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS welcome. The Special Tribute and Ceremony is at 4pm. The Alcona vs. Hillman football game is at 7pm.

The Oscoda Area Schools- will host a Hall Of Fame Tailgate Party Friday, September 18th, beginning at 4:15pm at the High School on River Road. Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 5:15pm in the Oscoda High School Gym. The Oscoda vs. Benzie football game will be at 7pm.
The Oscoda AuSable Chamber of Commerce Paul Bunyan Days- will be held at Furtaw Field in Oscoda Friday-Sunday, September 18th-20th.

The Glennie Lions Annual Rifle Raffle- is going on now thru Saturday, November 28th. The ticket booth is open every Friday & Saturday next to Rogers Family Foods in Glennie or from any Glennie Lions Club member. Tickets $1 each, 6 for $5. 1st Prize- a hunting rifle with scope; 2nd Prize- a Pump Shotgun; 3rd Prize- a Crossbow. Drawing will be held Saturday, November 28th, 7pm, in the Rogers parking lot. Need not be present to win.
KJC Country- Welcomes country singer John Berry to the Aplex in Alpena Friday, December 11th. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 8pm. Celebrate Christmas with John Berry as he sings holiday favorites and his hits as well. Tickets $60 for VIP seating, general admission $40.
