Andrew Prouty from Greenbush Bagged his 8 point in Alcona County! Shot this dandy at 9:15 a.m. he was in rut and on the trail of a hot doe, so he thought lol he came in just as i was starting to get cold and thinking of heading out i seen movement coming from the east of me and there he was in all his glory, head down and on the move. I had little time but managed to fire a shot off at him. Entrance wound was flawless thanks to my darton rebel crossbow. The exit wound however was toward the belly of this amazing swamp donkey and allowed for great blood but a slow kill. I followed the blood trail for about 75 yds in a circle. Ended up behind my stand about 60 yds and when i came up on him he was still alive! I bumped him. I then slowly made my way out of the woods to let nature take its course for about 2 hours and came back with reinforcements. I picked up where i left off and when i found this beauty my heart skipped a beat because this was my first trophy buck from this spot of 17 years hunting it soley! It was a very exciting hunt and I'm still in afterglow! Thank you mother nature for producing such a tasty animal for me to harvest and feed my family with!!! Couldn't be more happier.
