Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

The AuSable Valley Audubon hosts the free Kirtland's Warbler Tours in Oscoda Pine River Management Area. Meet at The Camp Inn Lodge, 3111 U.S. 23 in Oscoda at 7:30am.The Tours run til noon. Space is limited so call 739-2021 for reservatrions.

AuSable Valley Engine & Tractor Show

From 9:00AM to 6:00PM

The AuSable Valley Engine & Tractor Club annual show is on June 22 and 23, 2018 (Friday & Saturday) at the lovely wooded Oscoda County Fairgrounds on Caldwell Road off of M33 between Mio and Fairview. Hours - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featuring tractor & machine exhibits, gas engines & related machinery, tractor & kids games with prizes, flea market, swap meet, craft vendors, tractor pulling, and tractor parade. One free ticket to each child 2 to 7 for a peddle tractor to be given away each day. All farm equipment exhibitors, flea market, craft and swap meet vendors are welcome and it is N/C to set up or exhibit even for non-members. Rustic camping is available. Some sites with electric. Memorial Wall Motorcycle Escort

Michigan Fallen Military Memorial Wall Motorcycle Escort will be held Saturday, June 23rd. Line Up at Shoreline Park beginning at 8am, ride starts at 9am. The final destination is Oscoda Veterans Memorial Park on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base. All motorcycle riders are welcome.

Plainfield Township Sesquicentennial

The Plainfield Township Sesquicentennial Celebration kicks off Saturday, June 23rd with a Golf Outing Fundraiser at Wicker Hills Golf Course on Wickert Road, just north of Hale at 10am. Cost is $50 per person for the four person team scramble includes lunch and prizes. Proceeds benefit the Sesquicentennial Celebration. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 20th. Oscoda Veterans Memorial Park Musicfest

Schedule - Starting Friday, June 22, 2018 at 5pm with the Victory Trio. Starting at 6pm will be the Very Popular "Letters From Home Singers" also known as "America's Bombshell Duo". Following them at 7:30pm will be Jeff Carr as Wille Nelson Tribute/impersonator and Mike Sugg as Toby Keith till 9pm. On Saturday starting at 4:30pm is a popular local band. Wurtsmith Air Museum

The Wurtsmith Air Museum's 25th Anniversary of the Base Closure will be held:

-Friday, June 22nd-Museum will be open 11am-4pm and a World War II Encampment

-Saturday, June 23rd-11am-1pm Luncheon for Wurtsmith Veterans and spouses at the American Legion Hall on U.S. 23 followed by a presentation on Wurtsmith history. World War II encampment and Museum will be open 11am-4pm.
