The Iosco RESA Career and Technical Education Center would like to take this opportunity to recognize Reed Loeffler as “Professional Student of the Month” for February 2020. Reed is the son of Kevin & Janelle Loeffler. He is a junior at Tawas Area High School.
Reed is a first year student in the Automotive Technology program. He has shown that he is very knowledgeable regarding automotive tools, proper usage and their location in the shop. Reed is the first one to work on a vehicle no matter what repair or service is needed. He helps other students locate the proper tools and gives instructions on how to use them to complete the job. Reed always looks to see what he can do to assist another student, whether it be with gathering the right tools or helping with cleanup. Reed exemplifies the “it’s on me” approach every day to ensure the class succeeds. Reed has a passion for engines and wants to be an engine builder. He has taken the lead on training two new Auto program students on shop safety, hoist usage, tire machine operation along with other tools and equipment this semester. Recently, Reed volunteered to go to the Kirtland Community College Automotive Olympics on February 28, where he competed and took 3rd place in Precision Measurement!
To be nominated for “Professional Student of the Month”, a student must have outstanding work ethics, no absences or tardies for the month, no discipline issues and at least a B grade point average.
