Euchre Tournament Plaza Pool Fundraiser - Euchre Tournament Plaza Pool Fundraiser is Saturday, April 22nd at the A Plex in Alpena from 5 pm. until 9 pm.  Cost is $20 per person and cash prizes will be awarded.  There will also be snacks, 50/50's, and more.  All proceeds will benefit the Plaza Pool.


"March For Science" - The "March For Science" will take place Saturday, April 22nd behind the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary at 2:45 pm.  The march begins at 3:00 and will end at Culligan Plaza where there will be a rally and guest speakers.  Everyone is Welcome.


American Legion Post #211 East Tawas - The East Tawas American Legion Post #211 is hosting a baked chicken dinner April 22nd, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  The dinner includes chicken, baked potatoes, salad, vegetables, homemade breads, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverage. Iosco County Historical Society Presents - Our Heritage 2017 Lecture Series Wednesday,

April 26,2017.  When Amelia Earhart Came to Michigan.  Michigan Historians Al and Dave Eicher will tell the real life story of the many times Amelia Earhart traveled to Michigan to promote the aviation industry and opportunities for women in this field.  All programs are at 6:30 pm, at the Iosco County Museum, 405 W. Tawas Community Concert Band - The Tawas Community Concert Band presents "A Spring Concert", directed by Brian Carter.  Monday, April 24th at 7:30 pm at the Tawas Area High School. As an added bonus to the concert, the TCCB Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jim Sapp.  The concert is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.  A portion of all donations goes directly to support scholarships awarded to music students.  Following the concert, the public is invited to join band members for the "After Glow", refreshments will be served to all.


Free ORV Safety Class - A free off-road vehicle (ORV) safety class will be held Saturday, April 29th, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. End Polio Now - Oscoda Rotary and Interact Clubs present a Spaghetti Dinner, Monday, May 1st from 4:30 - 7:30 pm.  The dinner will be held at Wiltse's Restaurant, 5606 F-41, Oscoda. AuSable Valley Audubon - 11th Annual Tawas Point Birding Festival is  May 18th thru May 20th., at the East Tawas Community Center located at 760 Newman St. in East Tawas. Festival participants enjoy some of the best birding in the Great Lakes region.  Tawas Point is well known for high concentrations of migrating warblers during the month of May.  Along with multiple Warbler species, there are numerous raptors, shorebirds, and more.  Nearly 200 species were recorded during the festival weekend in 2015.  Don't miss out, spots are limited!  You may email for info at avainc12@gmail.com


Cause for Paws - 6th Annual Cause for Paws Poker Run is set for Saturday, May 20th, which supports the Iosco County Animal Shelter.  The event is being hosted by the Oscoda Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3735.  The ride will both start and finish at the post, which is located on US 23 in Oscoda.  Two wheel, three wheel, four wheeler, or any wheeled vehicle may participate at a cost of $10 per person.  Sign up will begin at 10 am., and riders can leave immediately after registering.  The course wanders throughout the area, showing off the beautiful Iosco County country side.  Hot dogs, chips and beverages will be provided at a cost of $1 each.  There will also be raffles for the many gift items donated in support of the shelter and the event.  Anyone with questions, or who wishes to donate to the cause, can contact Tomi at (989)305-2857 or Crazy at (989)820-5703


Mark Negro Memorial Scholarship Run/Walk - 5K Open Run/Walk, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 9:00 am at Adams & Sunset (across from the Hilltop), check in is at 8:00 am with the race promptly at 9:00 am.  Early entry received by May 12: $25.00, after May 12 & Race Day Entry $30.00. Kiwanis Club of Alpena and Alpena Booster's Club - Are sponsoring the "FLAG PROJECT", and they are looking for help.  The goal is to honor fallen veterans with the "Heroes Avenue of Flags" which will line the Alpena Bi-Path from the Evergreen Cemetery to 11th Avenue.  Each flag will be marked with a memorial plaque.  The flags will be placed 5 times a year.  Cost is just $50 a year.  To make a donation to honor a fallen soldier, or for more info call Judy at 989-354-3543


Please Drop Off - Miner's Grove at the corner of Miller & Wilber roads is collecting soda can tabs.  Proceeds benefit the Shiners' Hospital.  The tab is the only pure aluminum part of the can....the can it's self can be returned for your deposit.  But please remove the tab, and help children through the Shiners' Hospital.
