Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

November 17th, 2018 at Tawas Area High School. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 44th Annual Tawas Band Bazaar and Craft Show. Over 100 Vendor tables. No admission fee. Freshly baked apple dumplings for sale or buy frozen to take home for later. 50/50 raffles every hour. Live music. Everything home made or hand crafted.

French Canadian Ancestors Presentation

A presentation on "French Canadian Ancestors" with Gerald Wykes will be held Saturday, October 13th, 10am-2pm, at the Robert J. Parks Library, 6010 North Skeel Aveneue in Oscoda. Refreshments will be served, but bring your own lunch. Registration required by calling the library at 739-9581. Co-sponsored by the Huron Shores Genealogical Society and Iosco Arenac District Library.  

Rose City Lupton Pumpkin Bash

The 5th Annual Rose City/Lupton Pumpkin Bash will be held Saturday, October 13th, 11am-3pm, at Rose City Park. Events include:

10am-5k Color Run/Walk

11am-3pm-Vendors; bumper cars, obstacle course, raffle drawing, hippo chomp, giant slide and catapult. Unlimited games & inflatables $10 per person. Plus costume contest, face and pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, baked goods sale and caricatures. Sponsored by Rose City Area Festival and Events. Call 685-2303 or 685-2103.  

Tawas Point State Park & Lighthouse

Bring the family to the Fall Festivities at Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse Area in East Tawas:

Friday, October 12th 5-9pm Hayrides around the park and spooky lighthouse tours $2 per person.

Saturday, October 13th 11a-5pm at the big tent will be "make & take pumpkin painting, corn husk doll making and games. Hayrides and pirate ship near the flagpole. 7-10pm at the Day Use Area Pavilion a "Monster Bash" with music and refreshments. Sponsored by the DNR team at Tawas Point Lighthouse and State Park.  

Oscoda Red Cross Blood Drive

Harvest Festival

Rose Valley Winery's Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, October 13th, noon-5pm, at 3039 Beechwood Road in Rose City. Wine tasting, pig roast, grape stomp, entertainment by Al Bondar and Diane Chamberlain and hay wagon rides to the Pumpkin Bash in Rose City. Admission is $7 per person. Euchre Tournament Fundraiser Oscoda

Please join us for our annual Euchre Tournament & 50/50 Raffle as we raise funds for programs and activities for our local seniors. Your $10 entry fee get's you a spot in the tournament with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.. This year you'll have a choice of a BBQ pulled pork sandwich or a Detroit Coney dog with chips, sides, drinks and desserts. Registration and Lunch start at Noon with play beginning at 1pm. Quota's Trivia Night

Party Through The Decades

A "Party through the Decades" will be held Saturday, October 13th, 6-10pm, at Edwards Township Hall, 3601 Wickes Road in West Branch. Door prizes, 50/50 raffles, appetizers, desserts and cash bar. Dance to the music of DJ Pete as Wolfman jack. Also Balloon Pop Prize auction and Decade Costume Contest. Tickets $15 per person, $25 per couple and you must be at least 18 to attend. Haunted Halloween Weekend

Harrisville State Park, U.S. 23, Harrisville will host their annual "Haunted Halloween Weekend" Friday, October 12th through Sunday, October 14th. Children's games, site decorating contest, trick or treating for campground guests, haunted hayride and spooky haunted trail. All events are free but a recreation passport is required to enter the park.
