Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

The Tawas City Library Friends will hold a Book Sale Saturday, July 14th, 8am-1pm, at the Northeast Michigan Regional Farm Market at Gateway Park on U.S. 23 in Tawas City. You pick the book, you pick the price!

Farm to Fork Alcona Brunch

From 9:00AM to 12:00PM

Farm to Fork Alcona will host a Brunch under the big tent at the Harrisville Harbor Saturday, July 14th from 9am-Noon. It will feature many Alcona County grown foods. Cost is $5 per person. For more information visit Inspiration Alcona Dot Org.

Curley Memorial Canoe Race

9:00AM

The 25th Annual Curley Memorial C-2 Canoe Race will be held Saturday, July 14th. Race starts at 9am at the embankment wall of Cooke Dam. Canoers paddle upstream to round a buoy and then come back to portage over the dam and continue downstream, portaging a second time at Foote Dam and then proceed to the finish line upstream of the AuSable Inn in Oscoda. Entry Fee is $40. An Awards Picnic will be held at approximately 1pm at the American Legion Pavilion, 349 South State Street, Oscoda. For more information call 820-5196.

Sunrise Side Lifelong Learning Class

Sunrise Side Lifelong Learning will hold a class in the Japanese art form Guyotaku, painting with live fish, Saturday, July 14th, 10am-4pm, at the Tawas Bay Art Gallery, 302 Newman Street, East Tawas. Tawas Bay Art Gallery Class

Model A's & T's Show

The 7th Annual Model A's & Model T's at the Depot Show will be held Saturday, July 14th, 10am-4pm, at the Standish Depot, at U.S. 23 & M-61 in Standish. Car registration is $10 and includes lunch and ice cream social. There is no admission charge for spectators. For more information call 718-3021

Drive 4 Your Community

Dean Arbour Ford of Tawas City, KJC Country 104.7FM and the Tawas VFW Post invite you to a special "Drive 4 Your Community" Event Saturday, July 14th, 10am-2pm, at Tawas City Veterans Park, across from City Hall in Tawas City. For every test drive of a new Ford vehicle, $20 will be donated to the Tawas VFW Post. Take a second drive in the all new Ford EcoSport for an extra $10 donation. Must be 18 and older with a valid license.
