The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Thunder Bay Folk Society Spring Fling

Thunder Bay Folk Society Presents Spring Fling.The Thunder Bay Folk Society is hosting their annual Spring Fling fundraiser, Saturday, May 12, from noon until Eleven pm at the VFW Hall at 2900 Connon Street in Alpena. 12 different bands, including Ian McConnell, the Bandura Gypsies, Downside and Away, and Chris Crown, will each play one hour sets. There will be a $10 cover charge at the door, kids 15 and under are free. (Adults only after 9:00 pm) Guests can browse the auction items and bake sale. There will be free stuff for the kids, cash bar for the adults, Thunder Bay Folk Society merchandise, and food from either the VFW or the Midnight Blues BBQ Truck. Some of the main silent auction items are a new Ibanez Acoustic guitar with accessories donated by Joel
