Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Walk To Remember

THE COMPASSIONATE FRIENDS 4TH ANNUAL "WALK TO REMEMBER" WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 5TH, 10AM, AT FURTAW FIELD IN DOWNTOWN OSCODA. THE WALK DOWN LAKE STREET TO THE PUBLIC BEACH AND BACK TO THE PARK IS OPEN TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO WALK IN MEMORY OF THEIR CHILDREN, SIBLINGS AND GRANDCHILDREN TAKEN TOO SOON. SUGGESTED DONATION IS $5

4th Annual Walk to Remember

Saturday August 5th 10 AM--We will be starting to walk at the Paul Bunyan Statue in Oscoda, walking down Lake Street tot he public beach and returning. Whether someone walks the full length to the beach or a couple hundred feet is not important, what is important is that we have taken this time to join with family and friends who care that an important person, a child, is missing from our lives. WE will have pictures along the route of our children, siblings, and grandchildren taken too soon. If you would like to have your loved one's photo along the route, please bring a photo for us to display or email a picture to tcfoscoda@gmail.com. The walk is open to anyone who would like to walk in memory of their children, siblings and grandchildren. We are suggesting a $5 donation.

Nature Hike

A NATURE HIKE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 5TH, 11AM, AT THE VISITOR’S CENTER AT LUMBERMAN’S MONUMENT AT RIVER AND MONUMENT ROADS. HIKE THE DISCOVERY TRAIL WITH A RANGER AND LEARN ABOUT THE FOREST.

THE 9TH ANNUAL TAWAS UNCORK’D WINE, ALE AND FOOD FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 5TH, NOON-6PM, AT HARBOR PARK IN EAST TAWAS.  TICKETS ARE $15 EACH. A RAFFLE WILL ALSO BE HELD.
