Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

7th Annual Tawas Turkey Trot

AT THE EAST TAWAS COMMUNITY CENTER ON NEWMAN STREET. THE 5K RUN/WALK BEGINS AT 9AM, RIGHT AFTER THE LITTLE TURKEY TROT. MEDALS TO TOP FINISHERS AND VARIOUS RAFFLE PRIZES. COST IS $18 IN ADVANCE, $20 DAY OF RACE. PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY.

Veterans Alliance Of Ogemaw County

IS COLLECTING NEW UNWRAPPED TOYS AND CASH DONATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS IN FRONT OF WALMART IN WEST BRANCH. ALL DONATIONS STAY IN THE COUNTY FOR NEEDY FAMILIES.

WKJC ALONG WITH DEAN ARBOUR FORD ON M-55 IN TAWAS CITY. BRING A NEW OR GENTLY USED TOY TO PLACE UNDER THE TREE. THEY WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY TAWAS FISH INC. FREE REFRESHMENTS AND KID'S ACTIVITIES AND SANTA WILL ARRIVE ON A FIRE TRUCK AT 11AM TO TALK WITH KIDS. SO BRING YOUR CAMERA. CALL 362-3489 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Pottery Sale

THE STUDENT POTTERS OF BETTY FAHSELT-SENTER WILL BE SELLING BOWLS, MUGS, PLATES, OIL LAMPS AND MORE AT THE TAWAS ART GALLERY ON NEWMAN STREET IN EAST TAWAS. A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARD THE TAWAS AREA VISUAL ARTS TRUST WHICH PROMOTES VISUAL ARTS IN LOCAL SCHOOLS.

Student Pottery Sale

The pottery students of Betty Fahselt-Senter will have a sale of their work on November 30, 2013 at the Tawas Bay Art Gallery. Pottery include bowls, cups, lamps, vases and many other items. Students have a minimum of 2 years experience. Come visit the Tawas Bay Art Gallery and the Student Pottery Sale---just in time for Christmas.

Tawas Alumni Basketball Games

IN THE TAWAS AREA HIGH SCHOOL GYM. GAME 1 AT 6PM FEATURES GRADUATES PRIOR TO 2000, GAME 2 AT 7:30PM FEATURES GRADUATES FROM 2000-2013.A 3 POINT CONTEST WILL BE HELD BETWEEN GAMES. COST IS $35 PER PLAYER AND INCLUDES T-SHIRT AND DRINK COUPON TO WINGIN' IT. ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE BOYS BASKETBALL PROGRAM.
