The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

This is the 1st Annual Tawas Gingerbread Competition. During the holidays many people join together with their families and make gingerbread houses. I thought this year we could let all that creativity be seen. Contestants will have from December 7th –December 10th at 1:00 pm to get their finished products as well as their $20 entry fee to Thelma at North Country Signs and Shirts, where they will be displayed and voted on. We would love to have members of the community go in and vote December 12th – December 15th and announce the winner on Friday December 16th. Contestants will have to pick their displays up by December 20th. Anybody who would not like to take theirs home we would like to donate to the Nursing Homes in the area. Part of the entry fee will be used to buy a couple presents for someone in need.
