The Alcona Master Gardener Association is sponsoring the Smart Gardening Roadshow. Educators Mary Wilson and Rebecca Finneran from Michigan State University Extension bring this fun, informative and exciting seminar to the United Methodist Church in Oscoda on Friday, May 15th from 10 am to 3 pm. Finneran will talk about Greening the Garden... A Smart Gardener's Journey -- with ideas for designing a garden that is both "green" and gorgeous using plants that are water smart, pest-free and low input. Wilson's talk on Native Trees and Shrubs with Bling demonstrates that native plants are far from drab and boring. She'll share some of her favorite species -- both native species and their cultivars -- for a bright, colorful garden in various seasons. The cost of this event is $20 which includes lunch.
