Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Oscoda Red Cross Blood Drive

Family Focus

From 3:00PM to 5:00PM

On Friday, June 7, 2013, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Hospice Angelic Care will host Family Focus an educational forum being sponsored by the Iosco Poverty Reduction Coalition and partially funded by the Iosco County Community Foundation. The FREE Educational Forum will be held at Angelic’s Attic & Hospice Thrift Store, 1250 S. US 23, Tawas City, MI 48763. The event will feature no cost/low cost activities for children to do for the summer. Special presentations will include: Information on many of the planned Vacation Bible School programs being held this summer; a presentation on Family Volunteering; Information on early childhood programs will be shared; 4-H will provide information on clubs, programs and camps offered to the local community; representatives from the local Boy Scouts and Girl Scout will have information available on their program; the Iosco/Arenac Library will share information on their summer reading program and various other organizations will be sharing their no cost/low cost program information.

Legion Dinner

AT POST #370, 805 EAST GREENWOOD ROAD IN PRESCOTT. CHOICE OF FISH, BROASTED CHICKEN, SHRIMP AND CHICKEN TENDERS WITH FRIES, MASHED OR BAKED POTATO ALONG WITH HOT AND COLD FOOD BAR. COST IS $8 PER PERSON. THEY'RE ALSO A DROP-OFF SPOT FOR "TABS FOR TOTS" AND USED AMERICAN FLAGS FOR PROPER DISPOSAL. CALL 836-2660 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

4-H Sharp Shooters Muzzleloading Club

From 6:00PM to 8:00PM

Iosco County 4-H Shooting Sports program is currently enrolling youth 12 to 19 years of age as of January 1, 2013 for their Sharp Shooter’s Muzzle Loading / Black Powder Program. Past members and new shooters are welcome. Reasonable accommodations for disabilities made with advance notice. An adult must accompany youth to the first meeting on Friday, June 7, 2013 to fill out and sign 4-H enrollment forms, pay annual 4-H fee and meet the instructors. The eight-week program will be held each Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the range of the Iosco Sportsmen’s Club, East Tawas, MI. Eligible members of the club will participate at the 4-H State Shoot that will be held on Saturday, August 3.
